Noonu Atoll, officially known as Southern Miladhunmadulu Atoll, is a picturesque northern atoll of the Maldives known for its clear lagoons, coral reefs, peaceful inhabited islands, and luxury resorts. The atoll combines traditional Maldivian island life with excellent opportunities for diving, snorkeling, fishing, and marine exploration.

Noonu Atoll, administratively designated as Noonu (N) Atoll and geographically part of Southern Miladhunmadulu Atoll, is located in the northern Maldives. It consists of numerous coral islands surrounded by turquoise lagoons, reef systems, channels, and rich tropical waters. Manadhoo serves as the administrative capital of the atoll.
The atoll is home to several inhabited islands where fishing, tourism, small businesses, and government services play important roles in local life. Traditional Maldivian communities coexist with a growing tourism sector that includes luxury island resorts, guesthouses, excursions, and marine-based activities.

Noonu Atoll's extensive reefs and channels support a diverse range of marine life, making the region attractive for scuba diving, snorkeling, recreational fishing, dolphin watching, and other water activities. Divers can encounter colorful reef fish, rays, sharks, turtles, and other species commonly found in the northern Maldives.

Tourism has become an increasingly important part of the atoll's economy, with several internationally known resorts located on private islands throughout the region. Despite this development, many inhabited islands retain their quieter local character, providing visitors with opportunities to experience Maldivian traditions, island communities, local food, and everyday life.

With its combination of natural beauty, healthy coral environments, secluded islands, local communities, and high-end tourism, Noonu Atoll represents both the traditional and modern sides of the northern Maldives.
