Haa Alifu Atoll

The region is characterised by beautiful coral reefs, clear turquoise lagoons, white-sand beaches and lush tropical islands. Its relatively remote location gives Haa Alifu a peaceful atmosphere, with opportunities for diving, snorkelling, fishing, boating and exploring traditional Maldivian island communities. Haa Alifu also holds an important place in Maldivian history and culture. The island of Utheemu is famous as the home of Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaanu, one of the Maldives' most celebrated national heroes.
